Polk County, Florida is currently under a Modified Phase III water shortage order issued by the Southwest Florida Water Management District. Polk County Utilities customers must follow a once-per-week irrigation schedule with limited watering hours.
Allowed Watering Hours
Lawn and landscape irrigation is allowed only during these hours on your assigned watering day:
- 12:01 a.m. to 4:00 a.m.
- 8:00 p.m. to 11:59 p.m.
Properties less than one acre may water during only one of these two windows.

Important Notes
- The restrictions apply to Polk County Utilities customers, including residences, businesses and common areas.
- The schedule applies regardless of water source, including private wells and reclaimed water.
- Wasteful or unnecessary water use is prohibited at all times.
- Homeowners associations may not require watering outside the approved schedule.
- Customers served by another city or utility should check that provider’s rules, which may be stricter.
